Review - Algonquin
Roundtable Lecture Series
"The
Small Press Center hosted a screening on Tuesday of a film
produced and directed by Aviva Slesin called, "The
Ten Year Lunch." The screening was the first of five
programs in a series called 'Algonquin Roundtable Lives
Again.' At the opening of the program, lawyer Whitney North
Seymour Jr, founder of the Small Press Center, said that
Ms. Slesin would be introduced by actor, Chuck Marti,
who was in the position to do so as a result of what Mr.
Seymour
called a 'noble experiment.' The new position of Small
Press Center Introducer of Events was advertised in Backstage,
and after an audition Mr. Marti won the spot, beating approximately
50 competitors. It was easy to see why. Without notes,
Mr. Marti gave an exceptionally vivacious description of
the documentary maker's career. Ms. Slesin said, 'I have
never had such a good introduction.' " -
